MY PURPOSE
Three months ago, patient 52-1 was admitted to the high-observation ward for tracheostomy tube patients. 52-1 had undergone an 11hr. extraction of tumor and reconstruction surgery and was closely monitored and routinely checked every hour. All sorts of high-powered antibiotic bags were hung on the IV pole along with a regular IV bag, a catheter, and a hemovac were also hooked up on 52-1 apart from the tracheostomy tube. The nurses and doctors predicted that 52-1 was going to stay at the hospital between 2weeks to a month. 52-1 was discharged from the hospital after NINE days with only a prescription of a general antibiotic and plain tylenol for pain management. 52-1 had sarcoma. 52-1 is me. I had a privilege to talk to a nun and she told me that maybe I have a special mission. She said that usually people who survive either have a healing touch or may become an instrument of God. I’d like to believe that I have the magic touch (=p) but to be an instrument of God seems to be more ‘doable’. I want to be God’s instrument through helping people. Like the cancer patients in CHILD Haus. (please check embedded video)
